About Us:

Owner Michael Schenck started his career in foodservice as a dishwasher at age 14, attended cooking school, and worked his way through many kitchens over the following 15 years. The most important thing learned in this restaurant experience was the emphasis on making everything from scratch, starting out using the finest ingredients, and this philosophy is really what The Turnip Truck is all about.

We started The Turnip Truck to create a new kind of foodservice supply company, one run by chefs for chefs, in which the strict standards of quality that you expect are assumed right off of the bat, product is delivered in a timely manner, and your orders are right every time. Just as you would expect one of your line cooks to perform at a high rate of accuracy and finesse, we aim to give our customers that level of respect and attention to detail.

The Turnip Truck is a small, family owned operation, however we ARE fully insured and licensed with the USDA. Our Trucks are refrigerated, and we follow strict food safety procedures. Also, we strive to be as "green" and environmentally responsible as possible: Our Trucks are fueled with Bio-Diesel made from waste fryer oil and we recycle almost all packaging that comes through our warehouse.
